Stay Modern With Murray

From Porch to Party: Inside Posh Pumpkins’ Fall Styling Service

Matt Murray

If the thought of hauling heavy pumpkins and wrestling hay bales makes you skip fall decor, you’re going to love this conversation. We sit down with Carrie and Tracy of Posh Pumpkins, a mom‑run, Lincoln‑area service that delivers, designs, and maintains gorgeous seasonal displays for porches, long driveways, backyard parties, and even storefronts. They bring the pumpkins, build the look, clean the produce, and—if you want—come back to pick everything up when the season ends.

We dig into how their packages work, what separates their most popular options, and why the heirloom add‑on can transform a basic setup into a photogenic focal point. They share how they source pumpkins locally from multiple growers (including their kids’ own patch) to ensure quality, color variety, and longevity. You’ll hear practical, field‑tested tips to extend the life of your display for two and a half months: keep stems dry after rain, cover arrangements on freezing nights, and deter hungry squirrels with a sprinkle of cayenne. For businesses, they break down how to scale a display for wider entries and create fall‑ready photo ops that boost foot traffic and brand warmth.

What makes Posh Pumpkins stand out is the end‑to‑end ease. Send a quick photo of your space, get a right‑sized recommendation, and let the team handle the heavy lifting and final styling touches. We also talk about their path as longtime friends, balancing family life, careers in home organizing and event decor, and a seasonal sprint fueled by community ties and a love for simple beauty. If you’re near Lincoln and want curb appeal without the stress, this is your shortcut to a warm, camera‑ready welcome that actually lasts.

SPEAKER_01:

Thank you for joining us on this episode of Stay Modern with Murray. Today we have two very special guests from Posh Pumpkins. Why don't you ladies introduce yourselves and tell us a little bit about what Posh Pumpkins is?

SPEAKER_00:

Yeah, my name is Carrie.

SPEAKER_02:

And I'm Tracy. Posh Pumpkins is just a pumpkin delivery service, and we work in Lincoln and surrounding areas. Great, awesome. How far outside of Lincoln do you go?

SPEAKER_00:

Usually like Hickman, Bennett, Roca, Waverly, Waverly. We will go farther for a small fee, or if you can get like a group of your friends, you know, we'll go a little farther. Next week we're going a little farther out of town.

SPEAKER_01:

But great, awesome. Regarding like the pumpkins, what all do you decorate? Do you just decorate the front entryways of houses, the garage areas? What is the main location that you kind of put all these pumpkins and how many pumpkins do you usually obtain to be able to decorate? Yeah.

SPEAKER_02:

So we typically do porches. However, if a customer asks us to do something ahead of time, we will absolutely do that. Like yesterday we did kind of like at the end of the driveway. They had a super long driveway and it was just gorgeous. We are going around the back and doing a deck for birthday party next week. So we do friends of businesses and just kind of whatever the customer has for.

SPEAKER_01:

Oh, that's a great one. I'm sure there would be a lot of businesses in our area that would appreciate that by even looking at your Facebook post, some of the beautiful pictures and all those pumpkins and the hay bales. It's just such a fun fall fest to be able to promote some people's residence or even their business. Yeah. Walk me through the process of any packages you have to offer.

SPEAKER_00:

And we have three different packages. Our smallest package we just drop off 12 pumpkins. And then our most popular ones are package two and three. And those have quite a few more than our package one. Package three is our biggest, but we drop those off. They include that includes hay bales. We drop them off, design, clean them, make everything look so super pretty and put together.

SPEAKER_01:

Where do you get your pumpkins or source them from? Do you source them from the area around here?

SPEAKER_02:

Yeah, all of our pumpkins are from our local farmers, and we just use a variety of farmers for that, including my kids. They have a little pumpkin business, and they're probably our toughest farmers that to work with. That's true. But they're our favorite farmers.

SPEAKER_01:

They're the cutest. They're the cutest. Oh my gosh, I love that so much. So do they grow? So when they season before the season, like how long does it even take for a pumpkin to grow?

SPEAKER_00:

Oh, well, when I've planted, I plant usually in June, and I'm getting them by August. Yes. Late August.

SPEAKER_01:

So I'm sure that's a fun hobby for kids. They probably love that. Yeah. And then you mentioned installation and design as part of your service. Can you explain how that process works, what the customer experience kind of looks like?

SPEAKER_02:

So all of our kids are a little bit older now, but we used to like love to go to the pumpkin patch with them. But you know, when you're done with the pumpkin patch, everyone's like melting down. It's past snack time, nest time. It's just a mess. So, but then like all those adorable pumpkins were like, I want those. And it's like, uh, mom or designer, what are we gonna do right now? That's kind of how Posh Pumpkins was born. And what we offer for our customers is they can get a couple pumpkins from the pumpkin patch and make it fun with the kids, but then we just deliver loads of pumpkins and clean them. And so you don't have to haul them or do all the hard work. That sounds like way more fun.

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah, hauling the big old basket out of there or the trolley. I can't and and pumpkins are heavy. Yes. They're heavy.

SPEAKER_02:

Yeah, there's some big ones out. We skip work out strain stuff.

SPEAKER_00:

Yes, we do. Oh, that's good. And customers, they can send us pictures of their porch, like, and we can help tell them, you know, which package would look best, or if we think it would work on their porch or down by their garage or wherever.

SPEAKER_01:

So that's awesome. I love that.

SPEAKER_00:

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01:

What are your most popular add-ons then that you offer? We know here at Murray that you're actually presenting for one of our Pareto homes, and we're super excited about that to kind of help promote. So regarding that, like what are other add-on options that you can help provide, maybe now or next year?

SPEAKER_00:

Yeah. We do, you can add on, you can add on extra hay bale if you want. And we have corn stocks, but corn stalk bundles. And we have a heirloom add-on, which includes like some of the more pretty, colorful pumpkins that you think of when you think of pretty pumpkins. We also have a pickup service. So if you want to pay a little extra, we can come pick up and dispose of the pumpkins at the end of the season. Oh, now you're talking my style.

SPEAKER_01:

That's way better. What do you do with them? Like exactly. And then half the people, you still drive around, it's almost Christmas, and people sell their pumpkins on the porch. Exactly. Because they don't want to get rid of them because they're all gooed out, uh-huh. Disgusting. We'll handle all of that. Oh, gosh. You guys are winning my business so much right now. As the fall you know season progresses, what tips would you have for customers to ensure that the pumpkins would last through the season? So we know that you go out and set them up. How long does it usually last? Yeah.

SPEAKER_02:

So that's a great question, and something that a lot of our customers are ask us and maybe a little bit concerned about is we make sure to pick really high quality pumpkins and just with our expertise, we know what to look for. So our displays last, I would say, pretty easily two and a half months. Oh, great. Um, is typically what we see. I mean, they're still looking great. Oh, that's awesome. Just a couple things that we ask our customers to do would be like keep them somewhat dry. If it rains, the where the stem meets the pumpkin, that is really important to keep that dry. When it starts to get cold and drop below freezing, throw a blanket over them overnight. Okay. And that's really gonna make your pumpkins last all season. Oh wow. Look at all these tips I'm getting.

SPEAKER_00:

If animals are an issue, like squirrels tend to them, we found that like cayenne pepper, if you put that out every every couple days, or you just kind of have to play around with it. So I love that. I love that. Yeah, that that'll kind of determine some of the pets.

SPEAKER_01:

Are we giving away too many tips for people? I don't know. This is great. This is awesome. Okay, so if a customer is interested or we're talking about you, where do we find you guys? What's your Facebook? How do they get in contact with you?

SPEAKER_02:

Yeah. So we are on Facebook and Instagram, just um Posh Pumpkins Linkin, you'll find us right away. Okay. Um, and then our link to order is on those social media pages as well. And we do have a couple openings left for the season.

SPEAKER_01:

Great. Well, hopefully after somebody hears this or goes and sees our parade of homes. And now that I know the pumpkins last for two months, maybe somebody will come purchase the residence and have beautiful pumpkins for their own home. It's like a free-for-all. Yeah, I love it. Finally, what's your favorite part about running this business? What I know that you gals are both busy moms, you both have kids. You know, give me a little rundown on what that looks like when when season isn't in season.

SPEAKER_00:

Well, we there's actually a third member of our of our little business, but we've been friends for well over 20 years, the three of us. So really our favorite part of it is just spending time together. And we just have a lot of fun and goof off quite a bit, I feel like. Well, we're, you know, we do a good job, but we just have a lot of fun.

SPEAKER_01:

Right. So well, that's what makes your job fun. It is and going out and doing stuff. And I know when I met you with you ladies, it was it was great right off the bat. Like you were both, you know, super nice. You both, you know, explained the process so easily and just really entertaining to work with. I loved it. It was it's great. Yeah. When you're not doing pumpkins, what is your full-time jobs? Ooh. Being a mom. Mom. Yeah, being a mom's. Mom and wife is our full-time job.

SPEAKER_00:

Yeah. I do, I work for a home organizing company called Be Organized. So we do moves and just, yeah, any organizing that needs done in a home. And I, yeah, I don't, I don't, what else do I do? I don't know. I run my kids around. That's what I do. Right.

SPEAKER_01:

So yeah. That's what I think that's what everybody's deal is to every day. I know, yeah. Yeah. That's what we were born to do, together our kids. Yeah. I love it. I love it. How about you, Tracy?

SPEAKER_02:

Yeah. So I also own something borrowed. It's a wedding and event decor rental business. So we are just actually having our first anniversary, and we've been super busy with just doing decor for weddings and events, backdrops, centerpieces, everything you need.

SPEAKER_01:

Oh, wonderful. That's fabulous. I appreciate you both sharing those stories with me. Yeah. What you're doing besides this, but also, you know, helping the community, meeting new people, and just helping homes look more exquisite on the outside because I know I know mine needs help. I stare at it every day. I'm like, I need to put something out there. And then I run the kids around. Yeah. And I never get to doing what I need to do. Yep. So this is like call you guys up, you deliver, you pick up. It's easy peasy. And I love that. And I hope many people will feel the same way. And I'm sure they do. And if anyone gets on your Facebook or Instagram, you have tons of pictures there I've seen of you know past and current homes that you're doing or have done. Yes. So that's fun. And if I liked one of them, I could just send you a picture and say, hey, this is what I want. Can you drop this off? Absolutely. Oh, wonderful. I love that. Absolutely. Awesome. Well, you are you gals are great. And we're stoked to have you part of our team for the Parade Homes. Don't forget to follow these gals at PashPumpkins on Facebook and Instagram. Yeah.
